We are currently looking for a creative technical animator with deep expertise in photorealistic rendering using Houdini 20.5. This role involves presenting complex concepts in visually compelling, understandable, and informative ways as part of our communications team at Space Park. The position is located at our Redondo Beach, CA campus. Responsibilities + Develop and produce strong Houdini animations. + Utilize node-based compositing software, Nuke, where preferred. + Apply practical knowledge and experience with a professional animation pipeline. + Use basic business and creative software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Illustrator. + Work independently while managing multiple deliverables. + Maintain a portfolio showcasing a breadth of animation, compositing, and data visualization capabilities. Essential Skills + Bachelors degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 6 years related professional experience or a Masters degree with 4 years of related professional experience for Level 3. + Bachelors degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 10 years related professional experience or a Masters degree with 8 years of related professional experience for Level 4. + Strong Houdini animation production skills. + Experience with node-based compositing software Nuke. + Practical knowledge and experience with a professional animation pipeline. + Ability to obtain a security clearance; US Citizenship is a prerequisite. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Active TS/SCI security clearance is preferred. + Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. + Sketching or drawing skills are a plus. + Strong interest in storytelling. + Good time management and organizational skills. + Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. + Willingness to learn and stay current with new trends, software, and techniques. + Experience in Aerospace and Defense is advantageous. Work Environment The work environment is dynamic and innovative, located at our Redondo Beach, CA campus. The role requires working a 1st Shift 9/80A schedule, with no travel required. The dress code is professional, and the role does not support teleworking. The employee will use advanced technologies and equipment, contributing to projects that make a significant impact. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Redondo Beach, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00/hr.
