As a Media Prep Technician, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing of liquid media by following batch records and standard operating procedures (SOPs) with precision and attention to detail. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of our media products, maintaining an organized inventory, and supporting the overall production schedule.
ResponsibilitiesManufacture liquid media according to batch records and SOPs, ensuring good documentation practices and aseptic techniques are followed.Maintain an inventory of media components and completed liquid media preparations.Collect and manage data proficiently.Maintain a clean and organized workspace.Manage a media production schedule in a collaborative team environment.Maintain a JIRA board to track the status, requests, and deliveries of media orders from researchers.Communicate effectively with requestors on media preparation activities, observations, and status of preparations.Assist with basic troubleshooting in collaboration with the team if issues arise or media specifications are not met.Essential SkillsMinimum of one year of experience in Media Prep, preferably in a non-academic setting.High School diploma plus five years of lab experience or equivalent experience required.Ability to work on your feet, standing or walking up to 80% of the shift.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Effective time management and organizational skills.Strong math skills.Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently.Fluency in Microsoft Office and computer proficiency to access the internet.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Work EnvironmentThe position is onsite in Emeryville, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Flexibility with start time is required depending on media and team needs. The team consists of two additional people plus this role.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $32.00/hr.
