Mechanical Project Manager

An engineering consulting company in Orangeville, Utah is currently hiring for a Mechanical Project Manager. This position will be fully onsite at the project location in Orangeville, Utah. This opportunity is a 16‑month contract supporting a major district energy project with additional project phases anticipated.

Pay – $70.00–$75.00/hr (Depending on years of experience, tenure, software proficiency, relevant job titles, etc.)

Location – Orangeville, UT (Onsite)

Schedule – Standard Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)

(Responsibilities)Manage large‑scale mechanical construction projects from active execution through upcoming phasesDrive projects to schedule and budget with comprehensive oversight of cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reportingOversee daily operations including:• Managing subcontractors and trades• Coordinating with onsite superintendents• Serving as a key point of contact for clientsReview and manage project budgets and cost breakdownsPartner with internal teams supporting project accounting and reportingSupport field and installation activities related to sheet metal, plumbing, HVAC, and pipingProvide leadership during urgent or immediate project needs with the ability to step in quickly(Qualification Requirements)5–10 years of experience managing mechanical renovation or retrofit projectsProven experience managing construction projects $10M+ in scope (experience with $30M+ preferred)Strong experience managing projects to schedule and budgetDemonstrated ability to manage detailed project budgets, cost breakdowns, and forecastingExperienced in coordinating subcontractors, trades, and client interactionsFamiliarity with mechanical construction environments (sheet metal, plumbing, HVAC)Experience with project management or construction accounting software preferredCompany uses Vista by Viewpoint (prior experience helpful but not required)(Disqualifiers)Frequent job changes without project completionNo experience with mechanical construction (HVAC, piping, sheet metal, plumbing)No experience managing projects $10M+ in scopeLess than 5 years of relevant experience(Employee Value Proposition)Opportunity to support a high‑visibility district energy project with multi‑phase potentialLead a critical operation where your contributions directly impact project continuationWork alongside strong onsite superintendent and support teamsStable 16‑month contract with projected extension through June 2027Benefits include – medical, dental, vision, 401(k), weekly pay, and additional offerings through our organizationWork EnvironmentFully onsite at the project site in Orangeville, UTClose coordination with trades, field teams, and client representativesBusiness Challenge

Our client in Orangeville, Utah must add a Mechanical Project Manager to continue progress on a district energy build‑out. Much of the plant has already been fabricated in the shop and is now moving through installation. Winning the next phase of the project depends on securing the right project leadership. Without this position filled, the client may be forced to decline Phase II.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
