Mechanical Project Engineer (Aerospace)
Job Description
Actalent is seeking a driven Mechanical Project Engineer in Murfreesboro, TN. This role combines technical engineering expertise with hands-on program leadership. Responsibilities
Lead cross‑functional aerospace programs from concept through production, ensuring schedule, cost, and quality targets are met.Execute and maintain frozen planning to ensure stable production schedules and controlled engineering changes.Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with aerospace requirements.Provide engineering support for aerospace components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk assessments, and status reports.Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues and drive continuous improvement.Serve as the primary customer interface for assigned programs, managing communication, expectations, and deliverables.Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for production or field issues.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or another engineering discipline.3–5 years of experience in the aerospace industry, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, or program management.Strong understanding of aerospace standards (AS9100, FAA requirements, etc.).Proven ability to manage technical projects with multiple stakeholders.Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering documentation.Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments.Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, PMI, etc.).Knowledge of composite materials, machining, or assembly processes.Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility located in Murfreesboro, TN. The environment is fast-paced, requiring effective communication and collaboration across various teams to meet production demands and customer expectations.
