We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves collaborating with our internal concept design team and external vendors to ensure the effective design verification of finalized mechanical designs for Material Handling Equipment (MHE). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between design and implementation, working directly with vendors to perform design verification checks and manage the integration process. You will also be responsible for reviewing Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and making informed decisions considering schedule timelines, cost, and quality.
ResponsibilitiesAttend and provide consultation on all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) calls for Programs.Collaborate with the internal design team to provide approved design-related solutions.Provide weekly updates on Engineering Team progress at a project level.Escalate project-specific risks and track their status from discovery to resolution.Conduct meetings with direct managers to discuss open items and project risk levels.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or Engineering-related field.4+ years of experience in mechanical design and manufacturing.Familiarity with the development process from design concept to installation.Experience in developing and using quality assurance standards.Strong teamwork skills and experience in vendor management.Proficiency in .dwg files and utilizing AutoCAD with 2+ years of experience.Understanding of automation, material handling, and conveyor systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with upstream/downstream changes within systems engineering.Ability to add capacity or retrofit inbound areas for new equipment.Experience in rearranging existing equipment.Knowledge of designing new equipment layouts or retrofits for line implementation.Work EnvironmentThis role offers the flexibility of remote or virtual work, with a preference for candidates located near a major hub. Some ad-hoc travel may be required, but this will not exceed 5-10%. Candidates may choose to work from the office if preferred. The initial contract is for six months, with the potential for evaluation for a full-time role or extension for up to another 18 months.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
