**Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Shift Engineer**
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a world leader in integrated facilities and real estate management. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Shift Engineer to join our on-site engineering team at a prestigious static client location.
This hands-on role is ideal for a mechanically focused engineer with solid experience in building services and plant operations. You’ll be responsible for maintaining mechanical systems, ensuring compliance, and supporting the smooth operation of critical infrastructure.
**Role Summary:**
• Perform reactive and planned mechanical maintenance across HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, valves, and plant room equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Carry out routine inspections, system tests, and compliance checks.
• Support minor mechanical installations and equipment upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including risk assessments and service reports.
• Collaborate with the site team and escalate technical issues as needed.
• Participate in the shift rota and provide out-of-hours support when required.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Use handheld devices to log jobs, update statuses, and request parts.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and support junior engineers when needed.
**Experience Required:**
**Essential:**
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Plumbing, or equivalent certification
• Experience in mechanical maintenance within commercial or critical environments (plant rooms, office buildings, laboratories, etc.)
• Solid working knowledge of building services systems, mechanical plant operations, and fault diagnosis
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a static team environment
• Familiarity with health & safety legislation and mechanical maintenance compliance
**Desirable:**
• Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Basic knowledge of supporting electrical or fabric works as part of a multi-skilled team
