**Job Title: Mechanical Machine Builder** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Machine Builder for a 3-4 month contract position with the potential for long-term employment. This role involves assembling custom automation equipment from mechanical drawings and schematics. You will integrate pneumatic and hydraulic systems and collaborate with electrical and controls teams to ensure machines are built to specification. The ideal candidate must be open to travel for installations. **Responsibilities** + Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and assembly drawings. + Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies for automation systems. + Install pneumatic and hydraulic components. + Align and fit parts according to specifications using hand and power tools. + Collaborate with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues. + Perform quality checks to ensure systems meet design specifications. + Maintain a clean and organized work area. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of experience building industrial machinery. + Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints/diagrams. + Experience with drilling and tapping. + Strong assembly skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with drill press and machining. + Troubleshooting capabilities. + Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. + Ability to fabricate and use power tools. **Why Work Here?** This position offers a long-term opportunity with the potential for permanent hire. You will work hands-on on the production floor most of the time. Machinery is built in-house in Buffalo Grove and then shipped for installation at customer locations, requiring about 10-20% travel. Be prepared to work collaboratively and travel occasionally for installation projects. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
