Job Title: Mechanical Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector with at least 3 years of experience in the field. The role involves inspecting sheet metal products across various industries, including medical, automotive, and aerospace, with a focus on products for a major customer. The position operates on a day shift, working alongside a team of 10 inspectors.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints.Set up and operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).Conduct inspections using surface plates.Inspect cable harnesses and conduct box builds.Utilize calipers and other measurement tools for precision inspection.Perform measurements which constitute 80% of the job.Maintain attention to detail throughout inspection processes.Conduct first article inspections.Use tools such as wrenches, tweezers, screwdrivers, and calipers.Conduct basic wiring tasks.

Essential Skills

Proven experience in quality assurance and quality control.Proficiency in blueprint reading and mechanical inspection.Skilled in using micrometers, visual inspection tools, calipers, and height gauges.Experience with CMM inspection.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous knowledge in mechanical assembly (not PCB).Ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Work Environment

This role is based on the FM Fabrication side, working in a machine shop environment that is not a clean room. The environment can be loud and is occasionally exposed to weather elements, requiring appropriate attire. You will work as part of a team of three, including a manager, handling sheet metal tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Union City, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $34.00/hr.
