We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering division in our Charlotte, NC office. This division provides comprehensive engineering services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering. Our projects range from feasibility studies and analysis to design and construction, encompassing new construction, renovations, additions, and design/build projects.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the mechanical engineering staff to develop concepts, strategies, construction documents, and engineering reports for new building and renovation projects.Provide mechanical leadership for large multi-discipline design projects, including HVAC, plumbing, process piping systems, and fire protection design.Engage directly with clients by completing analysis of design options, cost-benefit comparisons, and communicating results to support decision-making.Direct the mechanical project team to achieve project goals and maintain quality work products.Manage the financial performance and schedule of mechanical projects.Develop client and business relationships, including proposal writing to initiate new business and maintain client relationships.Essential SkillsMinimum of 10 years of experience with a professional A/E services firm.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multi-task.North Carolina Professional Engineer’s License.Additional Skills & QualificationsExpertise in mechanical design, HVAC design, and Revit MEP.Experience with plumbing and fire protection systems.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in our new office space in Uptown, offering an employee-owned firm environment with a strong culture.
