We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer IV to support large‑scale manufacturing and process engineering initiatives within a robotics and advanced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on process optimization, cost reduction, and New Product Introduction (NPI) in a fast‑paced production setting.
The position will primarily support second shift operations, which are being implemented for the first time, and will work closely with a small team of process engineers to establish scalable manufacturing processes.
Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion.Own process optimization and cost‑reduction initiatives for sustaining processes.Own the creation of optimized manufacturing and test processes for New Product Introduction (NPI).Implement technology and tooling improvements to impact safety, quality, and cost targets.Perform critical process reviews, including risk and hazard assessments.Lead the development and validation of processes specific to NPI programs.Write business and operational planning documents for capital equipment and plant infrastructure.Ability to travel 10% to support projects when standard business travel practices resume.
MUST HAVES:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of GMPExperience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), including phase‑gate processesStrong project management experience and familiarity with project management toolsProficiency with CAD tools, including AutoCAD and SolidWorksExperience using structured problem‑solving methodologies such as: 8D, Fishbone / Cause‑and‑Effect, CAPAQuality and statistical tools: PFMEA, control charting, Pareto analysis, histograms.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including metrics reportingNICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
MBA or advanced engineering degreeProven ability to manage and deliver projects with aggressive timelinesStrong analytical and data‑driven problem‑solving skillsExperience in manufacturing or process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)Experience with: Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP systems, Tooling and equipment programmingExperience with process optimization tools such as programming, mapping, simulation, or algorithm developmentSelf‑motivated with the ability to work independently and in team environmentsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Westborough, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
