Role Summary:
The Instrumentation / Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the detailed design and engineering of gas compressor seal systems and associated control panels across the region. This includes equipment sizing and selection, materials review, engineering calculations, structural analysis, and preparation and review of technical specifications for proposals and order execution. The role serves as the regional technical focal point, supporting sales, project management, operations, and customers on technical queries, troubleshooting, commissioning, and warranty investigations. The incumbent will ensure compliance with applicable standards and company procedures while delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and on-time project execution.
Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support to internal and external customers and be the focal point of contact for all technical issues and queries in the region.
Ensure clean order entry from proper selection, sizing, specification review with full compliance to standards and company procedures.
Review and sign off P&ID, BOM, GAD, Fabrication Drawings, Data Sheet, Sizing, wiring drawing, hook up, heater control diagram, Bill of Material, DCS/IPS alarm/trip settings, Control Narrative, Cause & Effect Matrix, IO List, Logic Diagram and other engineering deliverables as per project requirement.
Conduct design reviews for all new proposals and highlight and escalate RISK assessment for jobs that are custom engineered and route via product engineering team for review.
Review supplier proposal, documentation and drawings are in line with project requirements.
Familiar with API and Industry standards related to Dry Gas Seal and Systems
Maintain engineering schedule and log to meet on time delivery by coordinating with customer, Internal Sales team, Procurement and Operation team.
Work closely with Project management team to execute projects and ensure on time delivery >95%, Quality > 98% and cost effective, meeting market level pricing.
Support on engineering study, HAZOP, SIL/IPF, and advise to customer on DGS Panel integration work.
Support on Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test and commissioning for Dry Gas Seal System.
Support Aftermarket activities such as Retrofits, Panel Upgrades, Site Study and design upgrades for improving performance, based on facts and findings and provide RCA’s that involves “Control Panel upgrades”.
Document change requests with proper revisions and documentation per company procedures.
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related technical discipline.
Direct experience in core engineering in selection and designing compressor panels will be added advantage.
Knowledge in application, materials, standards, specifications review, engineering calculations and troubleshooting of mechanical seals and systems.
Knowledge in AutoCAD, Solid Works, ANSYS / FEA.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering specifications and / or drawings.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, distinguish between relevant and/or irrelevant contributing factors and draw valid conclusions.
Customer facing ability to communicate and present well to both internal and external customers.
Good analytical, written and communication skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Few years of experience working with centrifugal pumps or compressor, mechanical seals, or mixer equipment.
Proficiency in 3D CAD, particularly SolidWorks.
