We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support HVAC, MEP, and fire protection projects across commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. This role involves developing mechanical system designs, preparing detailed construction documents, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring all work meets NY State and NYC building codes.

Location: Middletown, NY

Schedule: 9 AM–5 PM, Onsite

Key ResponsibilitiesSupport HVAC, MEP, and fire protection design projects from concept through constructionDevelop system layouts including ductwork, hydronic systems, ventilation, heating/cooling load calculations, and fire protection system designPrepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and construction documentsSelect mechanical equipment and coordinate specifications with vendorsEnsure compliance with NYS and NYC building codes, ASHRAE standards, NFPA requirements, and energy codesPerform site visits, field assessments, and coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, structural teams, and contractorsPrepare engineering reports, technical analyses, calculations, and project documentationAssist with permitting packages and coordination with regulatory agenciesEssential Skills3–5+ years of mechanical design experience in HVAC, MEP, or fire protectionProficiency with AutoCADExperience preparing construction documents for commercial or industrial facilitiesUnderstanding of ASHRAE standards, NYS/NYC code requirements, and NFPA guidelinesStrong communication and collaboration skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86/hr.
