Mechanical Engineer
Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support product development, new product introduction (NPI), and ongoing manufacturing operations. In this role, you will collaborate closely with local production teams and Taiwan-based design groups to resolve mechanical issues, enhance manufacturability, and ensure seamless transitions from design to full-scale production. Responsibilities + Partner with R&D, manufacturing, and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues. + Lead NPI handoff into production, ensuring readiness for assembly and quality processes. + Design and validate fixtures, jigs, and mechanical components for new and existing products. + Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) feedback to improve product quality and production efficiency. + Review drawings, tolerances, and specifications for accuracy and compliance. + Support failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions. + Assist with tooling, sheet metal, and plastic component design and inspection. + Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical documentation. + Act as a communication bridge between Taiwan design teams and U.S. manufacturing. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. + 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. + Proficiency with mechanical measurement tools and CAD experience (preferably Creo/Pro-E). + Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply knowledge to practical situations. + Familiarity with sheet metal and plastic manufacturing processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in the medical device, automotive, or systems background is beneficial. + Ability to read 3D models, preferably in Creo, to troubleshoot issues. + Experience with new product development, design, continuous improvement, server builds, server design, and computer storage. Work Environment The position is based in a manufacturing plant where you will interface with design teams in Fremont, CA. The environment involves working with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of La Vergne, TN.
