Job Description
This Mechanical Engineer will support the development of new products and tools by driving design, engineering analysis, documentation, prototyping, and continuous improvement efforts. The role requires strong technical capability, ownership of project execution, and the ability to ensure designs meet performance and manufacturability standards.
Responsibilities
Manage project plans, timelines, and engineering milestones.Perform engineering analyses such as design reviews, FEA, material selection, and tolerance studies.Identify process gaps and propose improvements.Prepare scopes of work with budgets and project objectives.Create and maintain engineering documentation including CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and test reports.Estimate and track engineering hours for internal projects.Lead prototyping, testing, and evaluation of design concepts.Ensure designs are reliable, manufacturable, and meet performance requirements.Apply research, analytical thinking, mathematical modeling, and CAD tools.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.Stay updated on industry standards, safety regulations, and emerging technologies.Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.4+ years of engineering experience.Experience with polymers/plastics, including injection or compression molding.Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).Experience with engineering analysis tools such as SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.Familiarity with mathematical tools like MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Excel.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.Excellent documentation, organization, and attention to detail.Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience designing helmets or protective equipment.Professional Engineering (PE) license.Expertise with injection-molded component development.Hands-on CAE/CAM experience.Experience leading teams or mentoring engineers.Understanding of Lean manufacturing (5S, waste reduction).High attention to detail, integrity, and strong interpersonal communication.Work Environment
The work environment is a manufacturing setting with a team of two engineers and an Engineering Manager. The role is hands-on and requires the ability to wear multiple hats. The organization is very family-oriented, seeking leaders who are passionate about continuous improvement and eager to make a real impact.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Riverside, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $89000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
