Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer will be a core member of the Mechanical Engineering team. The Engineer will be heavily involved in improving products associated with automatic doors, automatic door components, and related systems with a strong focus on Sustaining.

What You Will Do:

Reduce the number of open tasks from the Sustaining list. Provide monthly updates to a larger teamCollaborate with different departments (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, & the Field) to identify solutions to existing issuesAdvanced mechanical design for existing products, options, and accessoriesGain insights and knowledge of core productsUpdate Creo Parametric models and BOMs of components and assembliesGenerate 2D manufacturing drawings using 3D model dataObtain prototype components/subassemblies interfacing with domestic and foreign suppliers to build test samplesCreate methodical test specifications for validation and verification of new and existing designsCommunicate with third party contractors to further elaborate on designsStrong intrapersonal skills to work with other engineers to brainstorm new concepts and ideasSelect and specify materials for new or existing componentsMaintain Engineering documentation using the product change notice processWork independently on other small projects including Productivity projectsBuild, install, and test new or upgraded productsBe the Mechanical Engineering liaison between the Mount Comfort & Farmington facilities
 

What You Need to Succeed

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering required, MS preferred•0-3 years minimum design and analysis experience•Strong design skills preferredAbility to problem solve in a systematic approach with a high standard for integrity and accountabilityDesire to learn & be Self-StarterExperience using Creo Parametric 3D modeling preferredExtensive knowledge of 3D modeling techniques for components and large assembliesAbility to perform tolerance stack-ups and studies to drive decision makingAbility to perform finite element analysis (FEA) a plusAbility to create 2D electrical wiring schematics a plus
