**Our client, a global leader in data center operations and mission‑critical infrastructure, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team.** As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Alarm Management Program supporting Global Datacenter Operations teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical thinking, exceptional collaboration skills, and clear communication abilities which will align successfully in the organization. **Job Title: Mechanical Engineer** **Location: Remote** **Type: Contract** **What’s the Job?** + Evaluate, design, and improve mechanical and thermal systems with a focus on alarm behavior and performance. + Review and optimize alarm setpoints, delays, deadbands, and suppression logic to reduce nuisance alarms. + Interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and control sequences to identify sources of recurring or unnecessary alarms. + Collaborate cross-functionally with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Operations, and vendor teams to drive alarm quality improvements. + Support formal Alarm Management Program activities including alarm rationalization, flood analysis, and state‑based alarming initiatives. **What’s Needed?** + 5–7 years of professional mechanical engineering experience. + 2–3 years of alarm management experience, including setpoint reviews and alarm tuning. + Background in datacenters, Oil & Gas, power generation, nuclear, chemical, or other mission‑critical industries. + Ability to analyze mechanical/thermal systems and translate findings into actionable alarm strategies. + Proficiency interpreting schematics, P&IDs, instrumentation details, and BAS/controls behavior. **What’s in it for me?** + Opportunity to contribute to a growing, high‑impact global Alarm Management Program. + Fully remote schedule with flexibility (aligned to West Coast time zone). + Chance to drive meaningful reductions in alarm floods and improve operator experiences globally. + Collaborative environment working with world‑class engineering and operations teams. + Potential for contract extension based on performance and program needs.
