Mechanical Designer
Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob Description

As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for engineering and manufacturing processes. You will coordinate Engineering Change Notice documentation and process flow while working closely with engineers, product managers, and other professionals. Your role is crucial in ensuring that all components are accurately represented and compliant with industry standards. This position requires proficiency in CAD software and a strong understanding of drafting techniques and engineering and design principles.

ResponsibilitiesReview and edit documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in language and formatting.Develop and maintain document control procedures, including version control and document distribution.Interface with project personnel to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, operations, and quality assurance to align on project objectives.Prepare and revise drawings, models, and other drafting documents.Use CAD software to create detailed designs and technical drawings.Review and modify designs to improve production efficiency.Prepare assembly and installation guidelines based on drawings.Maintain and update existing design documentation.Participate in project meetings and contribute to design planning.Essential SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office and document management software.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (Creo preferred).Knowledge of drafting standards and mathematics.Ability to work in a team and independently.At least 2 years' experience as a design drafter or a similar role.Familiarity with manufacturing and engineering processes.Strong problem-solving skills.Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering, or related field.Work Environment

This role requires working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, interfacing with various teams to ensure project success. The position involves using advanced CAD software tools such as Creo and SolidWorks, along with standard office software like Microsoft Office. Expect to participate in project meetings and work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and project objectives.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mankato, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
