Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob Description

As a Mechanical Designer, you will create detailed mechanical designs for cosmetic displays using CAD software. You will develop innovative solutions for plastic injection molding and sheet metal fabrication, ensuring that designs meet aesthetic, functional, and manufacturability requirements.

ResponsibilitiesUtilize knowledge of plastic injection molding processes to design components that are cost-effective and manufacturable.Apply sheet metal fabrication techniques to create durable and visually appealing display structures.Conduct feasibility studies and material selection for new projects.Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, production, and quality assurance to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the manufacturing process.Communicate effectively with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve technical issues and optimize production processes.Implement design changes based on test results and feedback from stakeholders.Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for production.Maintain accurate records of design iterations and project progress.Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Minimum of 6+ years of experience in mechanical design, specifically in plastic injection molding.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM).Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with DFMEA and Bill of Materials (BOM).Background in product design/development.Experience in tooling and fixture design.Experience in sheet metal fabrication.Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment with an 8-5 pm shift. The engineer will have their own design station and will be required to spend time on the shop floor to interface with assembly and production staff.
