We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer with strong proficiency in SolidWorks to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings for mechanical components, systems, and products. This role involves collaborating with engineers, manufacturing teams, and stakeholders to develop innovative, manufacturable designs that meet project specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
•\tCreate and modify detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
•\tDevelop concepts and optimize designs for functionality, manufacturability (DFM), and cost-effectiveness.
•\tProduce bills of materials (BOMs), technical documentation, and revision histories.
•\tCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, production, and suppliers, to resolve design issues and ensure feasibility.
•\tPerform design validation, including basic simulations, tolerance analysis, and GD&T application.
•\tSupport prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
•\tMaintain CAD files and documentation in PDM systems (e.g., SolidWorks PDM).
•\tIncorporate feedback from manufacturing and quality teams to refine designs.
•\tEnsure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ASME, ISO) and safety regulations.
The position is onsite at a Manufacturing/R&D facility with traditional hours from 8/9 AM to 5 PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
