We are seeking a skilled Solidworks Designer to join our team, focusing on both design and project management. The role involves evaluating incoming projects to determine whether to outsource them or keep them in-house for our design and engineering team. Under the guidance of the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for the design, development, and analysis of both new and existing products. You will establish processes that lead to effective systems, procedures, and outcomes, identify long-range goals, and design plans to achieve them. This position requires a keen understanding of the situation's needs and the ability to establish effective action plans, while evaluating future implications of current decisions and actions.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and analyze new and existing products.Manage and evaluate incoming projects to decide on outsourcing or in-house execution.Establish processes for system and procedure implementation.Identify long-range goals and create plans to achieve them.Understand situational needs and establish effective action plans.Evaluate future implications of current decisions and actions.Essential SkillsProficiency in Solidworks.Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer experience.Project Management skills.Mechanical Designer expertise.Minimum of 3 years experience in a Solidworks-based design role.3 years experience working with multiple departments and strong communication skills.Associates or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design or Engineering.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with hydraulics.Automotive industry experience.Work EnvironmentJoin an engineering team of 10 people, working under the direction of the Director of Engineering. The team has recently decided to outsource some work to India, and you will communicate with the Project Engineer to decide which projects to keep in-house. This role involves working closely with customers from project inception to completion, with a focus on custom designs. The work is balanced between 50% design and 50% project management.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.25/hr.
