We are seeking a skilled **Mechanical Designer** with hands-on experience in designing large plastic components using **Creo CAD software** . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D modeling, drafting, and an understanding of manufacturing tooling. This role involves designing plastic parts ranging from **5 to 150 pounds** , with a focus on manufacturability and performance. This is a contract to direct hire assignment. **Job Title:** Mechanical Designer-Plastics **Location: Oconomowoc, WI** **Pay:** $35-40/hr.plus OT, benefits **Key Responsibilities** + Design and develop large plastic components using **Creo CAD** , with emphasis on 3D modeling and drafting. + Apply advanced modeling techniques including **radiuses, fillets, and surface features** to ensure part integrity and aesthetics. + Create detailed **engineering drawings** and documentation for production and tooling. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness. + Support tooling development and provide input on mold design and manufacturing processes. **Requirements** + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field. + **3+ years** of experience in mechanical design, specifically with **plastic parts** . + Proficiency in **Creo CAD software** is required. + Strong understanding of **3D modeling** , including the use of radiuses and drafting principles. + Familiarity with **tooling and manufacturing processes** for plastic components.
