Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design / Project Engineer (Level III)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Mechanical Design / Project Engineer (Level III) to lead engineering support for the Remote Mechanical Valve Actuator (RMVA) product line. This role is highly technical and requires significant project ownership, customer interaction, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong mechanical fundamentals, experience in regulated industries such as aerospace, naval, and nuclear, and the ability to operate independently in a legacy-heavy engineering environment.
Responsibilities
+ Own engineering responsibility for RMVA and naval mechanical control systems.
+ Review, create, and modify engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
+ Work within aerospace-quality systems, including configuration control, quality records, and traceability.
+ Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and material disposition decisions.
+ Apply knowledge of materials, tolerances, and mechanical systems in regulated environments.
+ Interface with legacy designs and historical engineering documentation.
+ Serve as engineering point of contact for assigned customer programs.
+ Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and test teams.
+ Support customer training initiatives, such as installer training at shipyards.
+ Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and problem resolution.
+ Support trade shows and customer site visits as required.
Essential Skills
+ 10+ years of professional engineering experience.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
+ Background in aerospace, naval, defense, nuclear, or similarly regulated industries.
+ Strong mechanical design and analysis foundation.
+ Experience with 3D CAD systems (preferably Creo; SolidWorks or similar acceptable).
+ Experience working with engineering drawings, specifications, and controlled documentation.
+ Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerancing.
+ Familiarity with quality systems and configuration controlled environments.
+ Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Comfortable interfacing with customers and internal stakeholders.
+ Organized, accountable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
+ U.S. Citizenship required.
+ Willingness to travel approximately once every 6–8 weeks (up to one week at a time).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with naval systems, shipyard operations, or maritime engineering.
+ Electromechanical Background or exposure.
+ Experience with nuclear power systems or nuclear adjacent products.
+ Previous experience with RMVA or valve actuation systems.
+ Creo + Windchill experience.
+ Prior MRB authority or material disposition experience.
Work Environment
This role requires working onsite four days a week in North Wales, PA, with the option to work remotely on Fridays (subject to state tax requirements). It is not a fully remote position. The role includes travel approximately once every 6–8 weeks, with expenses fully covered including company card, mileage, flights, and meals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Wales, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $63.00/hr.
