Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and modeling various components that are either casted or fabricated. This role involves using CREO for design and 3D modeling, Teamcenter for PLM, and Excel for various tasks. The position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of design engineers and manufacturing team members to ensure smooth transition from design to production.

Responsibilities

Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical devices including tools, engines, and machines.Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility for projects.Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably ME or MET.6+ months of CREO knowledge/experience (internship or college experience acceptable).6+ months of experience in castings design or strong experience in fabrication design.Proficiency in 3D modeling.Microsoft Excel proficiency.Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Work Environment

This position requires working onsite five days a week. You will mostly be situated at a desk in a cubical environment alongside other team members in the department. The team is dynamic, collaborative, and supportive, providing valuable training and development opportunities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of LAFAYETTE, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
