Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our structural components department, specifically supporting large engine product development. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and modeling various components that are either casted or fabricated. This role involves using CREO for design and 3D modeling, Teamcenter for PLM, and Excel for various tasks. The position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of 10 design engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production. Responsibilities + Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical devices including tools, engines, and machines. + Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility for projects. + Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably ME or MET. + 0-2 years of CREO knowledge/experience (internship or college experience acceptable). + 0-2 years of experience in castings design or strong experience in fabrication design. + Proficiency in 3D modeling for products that will be machined or casted. + Microsoft Excel proficiency. + Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating creativity and critical thinking. + Good communication skills, both verbal and written. + Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Engine component design experience. + Previous experience with the client's projects or environment. + BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology. Work Environment This position requires working onsite five days a week. You will mostly be situated at a desk in a cubical environment alongside other team members in the department. The team is dynamic, collaborative, and supportive, providing valuable training and development opportunities. Additionally, you'll have access to advanced technology such as 3D printing and the latest CAD design tools. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of LAFAYETTE, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
