Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will apply your mechanical engineering knowledge to the design and development of products, as well as product changes and enhancements within our design standards and workflows.

Responsibilities

Develop plans for and execute structural and mechanical testing for components on new and current designs.Collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team including mechanical, electrical, and production engineers to design, develop, simulate, and verify new components and designs.Devises and conducts validation tests to ensure product quality.Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, calculations, drawings, and processes.Ensure new products meet functional and non-functional specifications, including safety, performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.Troubleshoot operational issues and devise short and long-term remedies.Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement.Travel to customer sites to commission pre-production tests or troubleshoot technical issues (less than 10%).Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.Experience in mechanical and structural testing.Experience with calculations, FEA analysis, and simulation.Strong experience in mechanical engineering and new product development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Research and Development (R&D) experience is highly valued.Ability to set up and run test benches for new products.Minimal FEA work required, with a focus on communicating with the simulation team and reviewing results.Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
