We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The role involves designing applicable products using CAD systems, generating production drawings, and managing the mechanical portion of projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will engage in customer relations, execute technical calculations, and prepare technical documentation.
ResponsibilitiesDesign products for IBS of America and JUD Corporation using CAD (2D and 3D) systems.Generate production drawings for both in-house and subcontracted shops.Manage the mechanical portion of projects from start to finish.Maintain customer relations by obtaining necessary information through on-site measure-ups and product-related discussions.Execute technical calculations to ensure the safety and integrity of custom mechanical components.Prepare technical documentation and procedures, conduct product inspections, and perform dimensional checks.Provide leadership and guidance to support the development of other engineering staff.Collaborate with manufacturing personnel in the design of jigs and fixtures.Support revenue targets by assisting application teams, product, and project managers.Create communication documentation to convey design aspects to clients or manufacturing partners.Create, control, and maintain release packages and design history files.Participate in development projects and prototype design.Perform additional duties as identified by company leadership.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5+ years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering.Advanced skills in performing technically challenging tasks without supervision.Experience in designing custom technical components for special customer applications.Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD systems, AutoCAD, and drafting.Strong skills in industrial and manufacturing engineering.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience.Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.Work EnvironmentThe position requires 100% onsite work. Expect to travel 15-20% of the time, with up to 30% travel in the first year to learn and visit customer sites. Travel may include visits to Austria for training. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
10 paid holidays in the calendar year. Vacation is 10 days (prorated in the first year), 15 days after 5 years, 20 days after 15 years. Up to 80 hrs can be rolled over into next year.Sick days, 6 per calendar year401k, matching contributions 100% up to 4%
