Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

Join our dynamic team to manually assemble mechanical and electronic components of complex, high-density products. Your role will involve working along a production line, ensuring that standard operating procedures and quality standards are maintained at all times. You will perform tasks such as component preparation, placement, installation, final assembly, and packing using hand tools.

Work Environment

Work in a large, organized, clean, and quiet facility with multiple departments on the production floor. While you may occasionally be exposed to dust, solder, metals, high noise levels from machinery, or physical hazards, the environment remains positive and respectful, fostering an inclusive workplace with a strong mix of women and men across teams. You will be part of a team of 50, wearing provided smocks, shoe covers, ear plugs, and goggles, and must wear closed-toe shoes. Shifts are available in the morning and afternoon, Monday to Friday, with opportunities to learn more skilled assembly processes such as soldering, SMT, and CNC laser.

Responsibilities

Manually assemble electronic components following standard operating procedures.Prepare, place, install, mount, and fasten parts, components, wiring, and harnesses to sub-assemblies and assemblies.Use hand tools such as torque wrenches and screwdrivers, changing bits as necessary.Work at a designated station, using a computer to access assembly instructions and diagrams.Perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail and follow diagrams for accurate assembly.Participate in additional areas such as surface mount technology, hand soldering, and testing.Handle inventory management and documentation tasks.

Essential Skills

1-2 years of assembly experience.Proficiency with hand tools including screwdrivers and torque wrenches.Strong English communication skills, with the ability to read and understand assembly documentation.Good computer skills, including the ability to use SharePoint and complete paperwork.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a non-repetitive basis.Ability to accurately distinguish different colors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with electronic assembly in addition to mechanical assembly.Familiarity with Surface Mount Technology (SMT).Experience with hand soldering.Flexibility and a desire to learn.Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
