Mechanical Assembler
**Job Title: Assembler** Job Description The assembler will be responsible for assembling and piecing parts, components, and subassemblies to produce commercial and industrial electrical units. They will receive daily work instructions from the lead and collaborate closely with the engineering team to understand the assembly process. Responsibilities + Position, gather, and arrange parts for proper assembly, ensuring correct fit and tolerances. + Work independently in a designated work area and perform assembly from start to finish using hand and power tools. + Interpret work instructions, designs, and schematics accurately. + Mount assembled components such as transformers, panel boards, capacitors, circuit breakers, and switches in cabinets. + Assemble and fabricate sheet metal parts and mount components in cabinets. + Handle units that can vary in size, such as those measuring up to 7 feet tall by 6 feet wide. Essential Skills + Proficient in using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, and torque tools. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Capable of working independently. + Minimum of 1 year assembly experience in a commercial or industrial setting. + Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch. + Mechanical aptitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to lift 50lbs. + Comfortable standing for the entire shift and performing tasks that require kneeling and bending. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a smaller shop with around 10-15 employees. Employees can wear one headphone during work. The facility is not temperature-controlled and may become warmer in the summer, with the possibility of strong paint fumes. Steel-toed boots are required. The position operates on the first shift from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with occasional voluntary overtime of up to 1 hour a day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, Minnesota. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
