**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. This role involves the assembly of large diesel and natural gas engines, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools, specialized torque equipment, pneumatic tooling, electrical testing equipment, and lifting devices/cranes. The successful candidate will be manipulating engine components during the assembly process and learning the technical aspects of engine assembly, including troubleshooting and repair of in-process engines. **Responsibilities** + Assemble large diesel and natural gas engines. + Utilize hand and power tools, torque equipment, pneumatic tooling, and electrical testing equipment. + Interpret blueprints and specifications to complete sub-assemblies. + Review work instructions and document processes/progress using CPU. + Troubleshoot and repair in-process engines. + Collaborate with team members in assembly zones. **Essential Skills** + Proven experience in an industrial environment, working with hands. + Experience using mechanical tooling such as torque equipment and DC tools. + Mid-level mechanical aptitude. + Ability to follow written work instructions, SOPs, and blueprints. + CPU skills for following engineering drawings and processes. + Ability to pass written and hands-on assessments during training. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in automotive, diesel technician, lube technician, tire shop, farming, construction, or maintenance industries. + No diploma required. + Steel-toed or composite shoes required to start. **Why Work Here?** Employees have the opportunity to apply for full-time positions after the contract period, with attendance and performance being key factors. The manufacturing environment is temperature-controlled, with a relaxed dress code allowing sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, work pants, and jeans. PPE is mandatory, including steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses. The campus is tobacco-free, with approved locations for use during breaks. Employees typically work in pairs in assembly zones, ensuring a clean and safe environment. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.34 - $22.09/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
