**Mechanical Assembler - 1st Shift - $23/hr** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team in assembling tables, desks, and chairs for schools. Our company specializes in manufacturing high-quality school equipment for classrooms, including large cafeteria tables for elementary and secondary schools. This position involves using power drills, tape measures, and screwdrivers to construct various components of tables and desks, such as hinges, legs, and arms. This is a contract position leading to a union role. **Responsibilities** + Assemble tables, desks, and chairs for school environments. + Utilize hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, power drills, rivet guns, sockets, and wrenches. + Read and interpret blueprints and tape measures accurately. + Drill and attach components including hinges, legs, and arms. + Ensure all assembled products meet quality standards. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in mechanical assembly and general labor. + Ability to read and use tape measures effectively. + Experience with hand and power tools, including screwdrivers and power drills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Knowledge of packaging and assembly line processes. + Must pass a tape measure test. **Why Work Here?** Join a union company that truly values its employees, offering a supportive work environment with opportunities for growth. Enjoy a supportive union environment with shifts from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, with flexible hours on Fridays. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
