**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler** **Job Description** As a Mechanical Assembler, you will work in either the Sub Assembly or General Assembly area, utilizing hand and power tools to add fasteners, clips, and other hardware onto window units. You will also use caulking guns to fill spaces, paint materials, wrap netting around final units, and inspect for any flaws throughout the process. You will be responsible for meeting daily and overall production goals and cross-trained in various areas to adapt to different parts of the process. **Responsibilities** + Add brackets, fasteners, clips, and other hardware onto window units using hand and power tools. + Use caulking guns to fill spaces. + Paint the ends of materials and wrap netting around final units. + Inspect assembly and manufacturing processes for any flaws. + Meet production goals for the day and overall goals for the department. + Be flexible in learning different parts of the assembly process. + Work with large pieces of glass and sheet metal, ensuring precision in assembly. + Stand and walk for an 8-hour shift. + Occasionally retrieve materials from the yard and conduct unit testing. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical aptitude and ability to proficiently read a tape measure. + 1-2 years of experience in the construction or mechanical field. + Proficient use of hand and power tools. + Ability to read blueprints and perform fabrication and fitting tasks. + Positive attitude and great listening skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 6 months minimum experience in an assembly role. + Computer skills are a plus. + Flexibility in performing tasks wherever needed. + Ability to receive and adapt to feedback positively. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a family-oriented environment where leadership gives back to associates. The team works with large glass, sheet metal, and steel frames. Shift hours are 7 am to 3:30 pm, with potential overtime during weekdays and Saturdays if necessary. Material handlers may be exposed to outdoor conditions. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, va. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
