Mechanical & Piping Engineer – PMC (Oil & Gas | Egypt)

Job Purpose
The Mechanical & Piping Engineer – PMC is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the successful execution of all mechanical and piping works in oil & gas projects. The role ensures compliance with approved engineering documents, international codes, quality standards, and HSE requirements while supporting the PMC team in delivering safe and high-quality oil & gas facilities.
Key Responsibilities
+ Supervise and coordinatemechanical and piping construction activitiesincluding static & rotating equipment, piping systems, and packaged units.
+ Review and ensure compliance withIFC drawings, P&IDs, piping isometrics, datasheets, method statements, and ITPs.
+ Monitorpiping fabrication, erection, welding, NDT, and testingactivities in accordance with approved procedures.
+ Review and verifyWPS, PQR, welder qualifications, and piping material specifications.
+ Oversee installation ofstatic equipment(pressure vessels, tanks, exchangers) androtating equipment(pumps, compressors, turbines).
+ Coordinatepressure testing (hydro & pneumatic), flushing, blowing, chemical cleaning, and dryingactivities.
+ Participate inpre-commissioning and commissioningactivities related to mechanical and piping systems.
+ Review contractormethod statements, work procedures, and technical submissions.
+ Ensure compliance withHSE standards, PTW systems, and safe work practices at site.
+ Identify technical issues, raisesite observations/NCRs, and support resolution and close-out.
+ Coordinate with PMC discipline engineers, QA/QC, planning, and HSE teams.
+ Supportmechanical completion, system handover, punch listing, and final acceptance.
+ Prepare and review progress reports, inspection records, and handover documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree inMechanical Engineering.
+ 10–18 yearsof experience in mechanical and piping engineering foroil & gas plant projects.
+ Proven experience working withPMC / EPC / Engineering Consultancyorganizations.
+ Strong exposure toonshore oil & gas facilities, refineries, gas processing, or petrochemical plants.
+ Hands-on experience withpiping, welding, NDT, pressure testing, and equipment installation.
+ Thorough knowledge of international standards and codes:ASME (B31.3, Sec VIII & IX), API, ANSI, ASTM, ISO.
Certifications (Preferred)
+ CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2or equivalent.
+ NDT Level II(RT / UT / MT / PT).
+ HSE certifications (NEBOSH / IOSH).
Skills & Competencies
+ Strong ability to interpretP&IDs, piping isometrics, GA drawings, equipment datasheets, and stress notes.
+ Excellent knowledge ofoil & gas mechanical and piping systems.
+ Strong coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
+ Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
+ Proficient in MS Office and engineering documentation systems.
