Franmar Corporation A Mechanic is responsible for investigating problems with different types of motor vehicles and making repairs accordingly. What You’ll Do: + Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on school buses with minimal supervision. + Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel systems, and more. + Conduct road tests to verify repairs and ensure vehicle safety. + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. + Use diagnostic tools and software to log and complete repairs. + Participate in Beacon technical training and other learning opportunities. + Support other projects and tasks as assigned by your manager. What You Bring: + 1–3 years of hands-on vehicle maintenance experience. + High school diploma or equivalent (vocational/technical certification preferred). + Experience diagnosing major components (engines, transmissions, etc.). + Familiarity with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools. + Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus. + Strong problem-solving and communication skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled environments. + Basic computer skills. Additional Requirements: + Must comply with DOT regulations and company safety policies. + Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally. + Must pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical. + Willingness to travel within the district as needed.
