Job Title: Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled mechanic to diagnose and resolve operating issues with rolling stock. You will be responsible for adjusting, repairing, and making necessary modifications. The role involves disassembling vehicles to remove broken or worn parts, repairing them, and reassembling the vehicles. Additionally, you will be tasked with checking the engine and electrical systems of vehicles and making necessary repairs.

Responsibilities

Diagnose operating problems of rolling stock.Adjust, repair, and make necessary modifications.Disassemble vehicles to remove broken or worn parts, repair, and reassemble.Check vehicle engines and electrical systems, performing necessary repairs.

Essential Skills

Experience in diesel and automotive mechanics.Strong mechanical aptitude.Red Seal or apprentice level mechanic with 3+ years of experience.Experience working on ATVs, loaders, and tractors.Skills in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Welding experience.Red Seal in Heavy Equipment Mechanics.Experience in the automotive industry.Knowledge of brake systems, diesel engines, and auto body repair.

Work Environment

Work at a facility that serves as both a peat moss harvesting site and processing plant, where raw peat is transformed into horticultural substrates. The site operates extensive production facilities 24/7 during peak season, with four shifts in the summer. The standard work shift runs Monday to Friday, requiring a minimum of 8 hours a day with overtime pay at 1.5 times the rate after 8 hours.

The pay range for this position is $71572.80 - $97968.00/yr.
