Mechanic
**Job Title: Mechanic** Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assembler to join our team. This role involves putting together components and pumps on the line using power tools and hand tools, as well as diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions, both in-house and in the field. The position requires a proactive attitude, especially when working with older construction and highway equipment. Responsibilities + Attend and contribute to daily start-up meetings. + Understand and follow standard work for the Service Department, while also contributing ideas for improvement. + Disassemble units for diagnosis and/or repair. + Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose unit failures. + Devise solutions for unit failures using equipment specifications and manuals. + Provide written documentation of parts needed for repairs to customer service/inside sales personnel. + Clean and degrease parts using appropriate chemicals and devices. + Recondition and/or replace damaged parts and reassemble units using manuals and schematics. + Test reassembled units for functionality. + Paint reassembled units and prepare them for storage or shipment. + Perform field service work safely and timely when necessary. + Assist sales personnel with service-related customer inquiries. + Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with customers and vendors. + Provide on-the-job training to technicians and helpers as needed. + Keep work area clean, organized, and safe. + Understand and apply general 5S concepts, and perform weekly 5S audits as assigned. + Maintain shop equipment and tools in safe working order. + Notify appropriate personnel when shop supplies need ordering. + Follow all company safety and departmental policies and procedures. + Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely. + Attend service schools and technical training as required. + Perform other duties as requested or assigned. + Regular attendance is required for this position. Essential Skills + Proficiency in mechanical assembly and repair. + Strong troubleshooting skills. + Experience with hand tools and power tools. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. + Knowledge of field service procedures. + Experience with hydraulics and electrical systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with semi trucks or assembly systems is beneficial. + Ability to work independently and solve problems. + Strong communication skills. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a smaller repair shop with 4-5 team members and an office space with about 2-3 members. The service shop is non-climate controlled, providing a dynamic and hands-on work environment. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
