Job Description
The mechanic ensures the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive maintenance on production machines. You will follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions. This role involves dismantling, moving, assembling, installing, welding, torch work, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
ResponsibilitiesDismantle equipment and machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors using hand and power tools.Construct foundations and align machines.Perform scheduled inspection and maintenance.Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.Control downtime through effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.Set up and operate machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts.Travel to other locations may be required.Essential SkillsTroubleshooting mechanical issues.Understanding blueprints and schematics.Machine operating or fabricating.Repairing diesel engines, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems.Performing preventive maintenance.Proficiency in welding, three-phase motors, wiring, mechanical and electrical assembly.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency with hand and power tools.Strong mechanical aptitude.Experience in mechanical/electrical assembly.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
