Job: Meat Prep Operator
Shift: Nights
Location: Royal Canin (North Sioux City, SD)
Royal Canin is seeking a Meat Prep Operator to join our exciting pet food business at a North Sioux City manufacturing plant. We focus on the unique needs of cats and dogs. Our obsession with detail allows us to deliver precise, effective nutrition and help them become their magnificent best.

Key Responsibilities
Safety
Understand and apply the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for safe operation.
Identify and locate all electrical disconnects and emergency stops in the area.
Demonstrate proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures for equipment safety.
Respond to emergencies by knowing the locations of fire pull stations, extinguishers, and emergency exits.
Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Maintenance
Inspect equipment for damage or wear and report issues promptly.
Follow the Problem and Time-Based Escalation processes.
Understand and apply the importance of the Continuous Improvement Loop (CIL) process.
Operation
Read and interpret production schedules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Utilize tools such as TPI and iTrack for tracking and managing inventory.
Identify ingredients and ensure they are approved for use.
Control and track inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO) methods.
Maintain accurate measurements of ingredients and complete weekly inventory checks.
Sanitation
Follow additional PPE requirements during sanitation processes.
Demonstrate and explain weekly sanitation procedures to maintain cleanliness and safety.
Key Functional Skills/Knowledge:
Good knowledge of production processes, Good Manufacturing Practices, and other Food Safety and Regulatory Standards.
General understanding of Start Up, Operation, Shut Down, & Cleaning equipment
The ability to assist and troubleshoot equipment.
The ability to assist with quality checks and document results using a database collection system using a computer or IPad.
Food Manufacturing experience
Knowledge or Familiar with Nexus
Familiar with the MSDS database
Knowledge of Near Miss Reporting
Familiar with Adams Bradley Systems or other displays
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
1+ years of manufacturing experience.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to quickly respond.
Ability to stand for long periods of time on hard surfaces
Computer / IPad literate with the ability to enter, record, maintain, and retrieve data.
