A Materials Specialist is responsible for managing procurement, storage, and distribution of materials within an organization ensuring that materials are available when needed and are used efficiently.

General Responsibilities
• Assists with identifying and evaluating suppliers to ensure the best quality materials at the most competitive prices.
• Places orders for materials and manages purchase requisitions and orders.
• Maintains accurate records of material inventories and tracking stock levels.
• Applies inventory control systems and practices to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
• Maintain the quality and proper storage of materials to prevent damage.
• Implements safety procedures for handling hazardous materials.
• Coordinates the movement of materials within the facility and to external locations as needed.

Experience / Qualifications
• Relevant work experience or knowledge of the role
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
