Materials Planner

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Materials Planner. 

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:   
A. Communicating through the standard tools and channels the forecast requirements to the different 
intercompany sites. The position will be responsible to ensure forecast accuracy.   
B. Being a liaison between Aguascalientes site and Divisional Materials Planning Team for steel suppliers. 
This position will coordinate with be the contact point to support the divisional team on production 
schedule or forecast related issues during the Aguas ramp up process.   
C. Reviewing assigned items and responding to shortages, real and potential.  
D. Coordinating follow-up meetings / calls with suppliers to drive performance improvement for non
performing suppliers.  
E. Setting up and monitoring expedited freight when needed.   
F. Reviewing, updating, and developing processes for the Materials Planning team  
G. Managing ECR/ECO deployment actions for assigned parts and suppliers 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
A. Review and address material shortages  
B. Maintain Item Master and Organization records and sourcing setups as appropriate  
C. Ramp down / Ramp up coordination with intercompany sites  
D. Ensure coordination of bank of finished good items to be transferred.   
E. Dictate priorities to intercompany sites to support FG replenishment to Aguas site  
F. Complete ramp down and ramp up analysis to support customer deliveries.   
G. Invoice holds support resolution and follow up on cleaning up for assigned suppliers with SCM Team  
H. ASN review and cleanup  
I. Resolve and eliminate aged ASN’s daily to ensure supply accuracy.   
J. Resolve any ASN that is not processed due to interface issue.   
K. Discrete planning  
A. Utilize standard ASCP tools to release purchase orders to interco suppliers at lead time.   
L. Min-max planning 

M. Ensure suppliers understanding and compliance of min-max methodology.  
N. Set up of new suppliers to Min-Max methodology.  
O. Cleanup and maintain of approved supplier lists, sourcing rules and planning item parameters.  
P. Expedited freight Monitoring  
Q. Ensure premium freight request compliance on a monthly basis   
R. Expedited charter and international freight. Monitoring and providing feedback to carriers and  materials team while freight is in-transit.  

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

A. Position requires working knowledge of MS-Excel, Logistics, Data analysis techniques using simple pareto charts and trend analysis. MS-Powerpoint and MS-Word.    
B. Knowledge of Power BI Data warehouse tools, Oracle r11 ERP, Supplier Visualization (Vendor Managed Inventory), ASCP.  
C. English skills (written and oral)  80% oral and written.  

D. Bachelor Degree: Industrial Engineer, or Similar

E. +5 Years of experiencie: material planning, inventory & demand planning

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

In addition to the intercompany planning responsibilities and vendor-manage inventory (Supplier Vis) planning responsibilities of the Materials Planner, this position will carry more complex planning responsibilities, including:  
A. Planning for international suppliers – This will require an understanding of more complex logistics  strategies and customs issues, more complex min/max planning, more challenging communications  issues, and more-frequent manual intervention to assure the Eaton plants are supported with parts.  
B. Make/buy part planning – This adds substantial complexity to planning activities because of the need to react to internal “make” part capacity and execution issues.  It will require close communication with the Eaton plants and the ability to exercise “business judgment” to resolve complex issues regarding inventory management.  
C. Position requires a strong sense of urgency in order to respond in a timely fashion to critical customer and plant requests.  This may include early morning, late evening, and night or weekend availability to conduct meetings and/or conference calls with international locations.
