**Job Title: Material Technician**
**Job Description**
We are currently seeking a dedicated Material Technician to join our team. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of work centers by managing materials and coordinating with various teams to prepare for upcoming jobs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Understand the items running on each work center and ensure all necessary materials are available for the duration of the job.
+ Collaborate with the setup team to understand upcoming jobs and verify material availability.
+ Remove, identify, clean, and store remaining materials after job completion, preparing work centers for the next setup.
+ Work with the Shift Supervisor to prepare for upcoming jobs on all work centers.
+ Verify material availability and ensure it is dried on time if necessary.
+ Stage all raw materials needed at the work center, including purchase components and work in progress.
+ Fill color feeders and ensure work centers are properly setup for subsequent jobs.
+ Empty and clean hoppers and dryers as needed.
+ Clean material line feeds between jobs when necessary.
+ Setup appropriate grinder at work center if needed and recycle into current job when possible.
+ Remove and properly store all materials, ensuring correct labeling and scanning into IQMS.
+ Collect scrap and purge material from work centers, labeling correctly before storage.
+ Mix, batch, and blend materials for production.
+ Maintain a clean and organized raw material area.
+ Coordinate work center issues with the supervisor to prevent material handling disruptions.
+ Unload material from trucks, verify packing slip contents, and turn into Receiving.
+ Conduct cycle counts for raw materials and packaging supplies, assisting in inventory control.
+ Support operator breaks and lunches.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in the injection molding industry.
+ At least 1 year of raw material handling experience, including handling resins, raw materials, and cycle counts of items weighing 60 lbs or more.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in machine setup, plastic injection molding, and quality assurance.
+ Ability to stage and clean up work centers and operate grinders.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a plastic injection automotive plant, known for being relatively clean for an automotive facility. The facility is non-temp controlled and can be loud.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Saline, Michigan.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $37440.00/yr.
