Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler who is able to bend, stoop, lift, manipulate, and place various materials such as pipe, fittings, vent, valves, and insulation up to 50 pounds. The role involves delivering these materials to open spaces, confined spaces, and spaces at extreme heights onboard a ship. Candidates must be capable of walking, climbing, crawling, bending, squatting, and standing for 8 hours per day while working in different environments.

Work Environment

The work environment is located in a shipyard stretching over 5 miles in Southeast Virginia. It is very hot and muggy during the summer and cool during the winter. All work will be performed onboard Navy vessels or in a shop environment. The shifts available are 1st shift from 7am to 3:30pm, 2nd shift from 3:30pm to 11pm, and 3rd shift from 11pm to 7am.

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.36 - $27.31/hr.
