**Material Handler I - 1st Shift - Frederick, MD** **Job Description** The Material Handler I position, based in Frederick, MD, is responsible for supporting operations by storing and shipping materials at temperatures ranging from ambient room temperature to -196 degrees C, including materials with potentially hazardous properties. **Responsibilities** + Receive incoming raw materials. + Facilitate the movement of materials, including hazardous materials, across the site. + Maintain accurate inventory through receipts, adjustments, and cycle counts. **Essential Skills** + Ability to work independently and set priorities. + Effective interpersonal and communication skills. + Ability to work as part of a team. + Competency in handling processes and storing specimens using a computerized storage and retrieval system. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + No previous work experience required. + Preferred experience in distribution, warehouse, supply chain, or related field. + Preferred experience with warehouse equipment. + High school diploma or equivalent required. **Why Work Here?** Join a team that values safety and teamwork while providing opportunities for career growth. Enjoy a supportive work environment where your contributions make a difference. **Work Environment** Work in a cold environment with exposure to dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, hazardous and infectious agents, and marked changes in temperature. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used, and safety protocols must be adhered to. Be prepared to lift and carry 50 lbs and push up to 70 lbs, and periodically work in walk-in freezers and refrigerators for up to 5 hours per day. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm, with overtime as needed based on volume. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Frederick, Maryland. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
