Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks and vans, either by using a sit-down forklift or by lifting products weighing up to 65 lbs. The ideal candidate will have over two years of experience, although we will consider candidates with varied experience levels if they possess other relevant competencies. You will also be selecting specific customer orders based on written instructions, with additional training provided as needed. MUST have experience with UPS shipping.

Responsibilities

Load and unload trucks and vans using a sit-down forklift or manually.Pick and select specific customer orders based on written instructions.Operate within a warehouse environment, following safety and operational guidelines.Perform inventory control and manage shipping and receiving tasks.Use computer systems for data entry and inventory management, specifically with UPS and FedEx.Ensure accurate and efficient packaging and handling of materials.

Essential Skills

2+ years of warehouse experience.6+ months of forklift operation experience.1+ year of material handling experience.6+ months of experience using computers or inventory systems with UPS or FedEx.High school education or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with shipping and receiving.Knowledge of SAP for domestic shipping.Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.Basic data entry skills.

Work Environment

The role is based in a smaller-sized warehouse that utilizes four primary dock doors, which may result in chilly conditions when doors are open. Candidates should dress appropriately for the weather. Each team member is responsible for their own equipment and ensuring a safe working environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Britain, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
