Job Overview
Material Handlers perform necessary handling of materials at both the beginning and end of the production process.
Schedule
Nights 7p-7a
6 weeks working Monday-Wednesday, every other Sunday then
6 weeks Thursday-Saturday, every other Sunday
Switch front to back of week every 6 weeks

Job Duties:
Receive materials and unload using forklift equipment, following the 1st In/1st Out system and move to proper locations
Verify accuracy of paperwork vs. received material and enter and allocate into the MRP system (SAP)
Verify acceptance of material by QA via certification and document appropriately
Provide documentation of material delivery to appropriate departments
Move to stock machines (substrates) and return rolls and materials to storage
Move finished goods to labelling area and complete labelling
Place materials into appropriate racks and document locations on slitter tickets
Maintain location system
Complete staging and shipping tasks including pulling orders, move to staging area, checking orders and loading trucks
Assist if needed in inventory of raw materials monthly (this may involve working odd hours) and involvement in recounts
Follow all safety policies and practices
Conduct cycle counts and other miscellaneous tasks as required
All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Qualifications/Requirements
Formal Qualifications and Experience
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
HS diploma or equivalent/Technical experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Behaviors
Vision requirements of the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus to perform all functions safely
Must have the ability to distinguish color, must pass a color blindness test.
Regular attendance.
Frequent interaction with others.
Must have the ability to work in a team-based environment, assist others when needed and lead by example while focusing on safety, quality and productivity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to utilize troubleshooting skills for specification issues.
Basic knowledge of truck capacities, warehouse flow and production process environment (FIFO) location system knowledge preferred
Proficient math and computer skills
Comfortable working with hazardous materials
Strong self-motivating skills and ability to self-manage, prioritize and persevere in stressful situations.
Excellent communication skills and ability to calmly work with different personalities.
This position performs hazardous-waste duties, large quantity generator (LGQ) training per EPA 40 CFR 262.17(a)(7) is mandatory.
These duties affect hazardous materials shipping, DOT 49 CFR 172.704 training is mandatory.
Lean manufacturing experience desirable.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand and walk for a 12 hour shift
Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
Frequent use of wrist and hands
Frequent stepping up and down from platforms
Exposure to a noise level above 85 decibels
Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions both inside the facility and out (i.e. high temperatures indoors in summer, cold temperatures inside and out around dock area)
