Role Summary:
We are seeking an individual who enjoys a high-volume environment and has a strong attention for details. This individual is responsible for the loading of trucks, and packaging of materials (building crates and skids), all while providing exemplary service to internal and external customers.
This is a 1st shift role (Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm)
Responsibilities:
Build wooden boxes and skids from scratch for outbound shipments for product that will be shipped domestically and internationally.
Load outbound shipments with forklift onto enclosed and flatbed trailers.
Perform verification of bill of lading and packing list, to ensure outbound shipments are accurate.
Engage with planning and other departments to resolve packing list discrepancies.
Verify the accuracy of outbound shipments.
Properly package out-bound shipments to ensure that the contents arrive at their destination in undamaged condition.
Follows all warehouse processes when performing work, while maintaining good 5S housekeeping in all assigned work areas.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk many steps throughout the day, kneel, twist, and bend.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally buddy lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
Safely operate woodworking tools/equipment.
Must be able to multitask and work in a production environment that has multiple product changeovers.
Speak and understand "the language of logistics".
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Previous experience with saws, nail guns and related woodworking equipment for crate/box/skid building
Previous related material handling experience
Basic keyboarding/PC skills
Be able to safely lift 50 pounds
Ability to always follow proper safety procedures and guidelines
Ability to work in a team oriented and Continuous Improvement Environment
Availability to work overtime as needed including weekends and evenings
Must be willing to learn and cross train as needed throughout different function(s)/area(s)
Fluent in the English language
Preferred:
Previous carpentry and/or construction experience
Prior forklift and/or crane experience
HS Diploma/GED
Have strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
Have a keen attention to detail

The pay range for this position is $17.24 - 22.55 USD Hourly
