A manufacturer in the Eastern Indianapolis region is seeking multiple Material Handlers for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The role involves working in two departments: Conveyance and Shipping.
ResponsibilitiesPull, pack, and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, handling 1,000 boxes per person per shift.Utilize electric and manual pallet jacks along with tuggers to transport carts filled with materials.Occasionally operate sit-down forklifts to move palletized products.Physically push carts with full containers, managing 72 containers per cart, 10 times per day.Use RF Scanner to track and manage inventory efficiently.Weigh products and package them according to customer specifications.Ensure proper documentation of materials, batch numbers, and other required information.
Essential SkillsProficiency with RF scanners and material-handling equipment.Experience as a Forklift Operator, specifically using sit-down forklifts.Ability to pick and pack orders accurately in a warehouse environment.Skillful in operating pallet jacks and tuggers.Strong inventory management skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a Tugger Operator or Order Selector.Minimum of 1+ year experience in material handling or related roles.
Available Shifts & Pay2nd shift: 2:30pm - 11:00pm // $223rd shift: 10:30pm - 7am // $23Training occurs on 1st shift from 6:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, before transitioning to the respective 2nd or 3rd shift.
Work Environment
The facility is a 1 million square foot space, characterized by a hot, dirty, and oily environment. Candidates must be comfortable working under such conditions. Training occurs in a comprehensive Global Training Center, with a 12- to 15-week program on 1st shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, before transitioning to the respective 2nd or 3rd shift. Shift hours are as follows: 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday. Overtime may be required, extending shifts by 2 to 4 hours, and potential Saturday work with advanced notice.
