Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description

Responsible for material control, accuracy, and flow to support building and shipping of various fiber optic and electrical products in a DoD contracting environment.

ResponsibilitiesUse hands, tools, and/or machines to pick orders for shipment and to pick, prep, and kit jobs for production/assembly.Ensure production orders are picked accurately and in a timely manner according to the scheduled job start dates.Perform basic assembly functions in support of the overall picking/assembly process.Ensure material is accurately issued to production orders in the ERP system.Replenish the assembly line with components from the warehouse.Maintain accurate serial/lot traceability on all material at all times.Maintain required records of production and report any inconsistencies in equipment operation or materials to supervisor.Inspect and receive inventory shipments.Process receipts in ERP system.Put away inspected material.Properly package product for shipment.Process shipments in ERP system and on carrier sites.Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and accurate warehouse.Train and oversee Material Handler I personnel.Safely operate production tools and equipment.Safely lift/move material weighing 50 pounds individually or more with assistance.Essential SkillsMaterial handlingInventory controlRF scanner usageShipping and receivingKitting experiencePackingForklift operationAdditional Skills & QualificationsPrevious warehouse kitting experienceAbility to start ASAP after interview and passing DTWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a new, climate-controlled, and clean warehouse facility. Required attire includes closed-toed shoes, jeans/work pants, and plain t-shirts. The shift is Monday-Thursday from 6am to 4:30pm, with optional overtime on Friday and Saturday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
