Material Handler
**Job Title: Material Handler** **Job Description** A Material Handler plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials through a facility, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the organization. This position requires a combination of physical agility, attention to detail, and teamwork, making it well-suited for individuals who thrive in dynamic work environments. **Responsibilities** + Properly store materials in designated locations within the warehouse or storage area, ensuring accessibility and organization for efficient retrieval. + Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and update inventory systems as needed. + Fulfill orders by accurately picking required items from inventory, packing them securely, and preparing them for shipment or transfer. + Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move materials within the facility. + Inspect materials for quality defects, report any issues to appropriate personnel, and ensure only acceptable materials are used in production or shipped to customers. + Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. + Work closely with other team members, including warehouse associates, supervisors, and logistics personnel, to coordinate material flow and support operational objectives. + Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings within the material handling function, and actively contribute to implementation efforts. **Essential Skills** + Experience working in a fast-paced, repetitive manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment. + Proficiency in operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, with appropriate certifications/licenses. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and documentation. + Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely, often in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. + Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software or systems. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent. + Prior experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a similar role preferred. + Experience with pallet jack and wrapping. + Experience with Scanner gun for labels. + Able to stand for long periods of time. + Able to lift up to 40 pounds, not repeatedly. + Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed. **Why Work Here?** Join a growing company that offers competitive pay and early conversion potential, fostering a culture of sustainability through environmentally conscious practices. **Work Environment** This is a commercial printing and packaging company located in Woodland, with three departments - printing, finishing, and die cutting. The company has about 110 employees on site, with approximately half working in manufacturing. The organization prides itself on being environmentally conscious and producing green/recyclable packaging. Working hours are from 5AM to 1:30PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime required as late as 3:30PM. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodland, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
