**Job Title: Material Handler** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for moving, storing, and picking materials, such as steel and metal, throughout our facility using a sit-down propane forklift. **Responsibilities** + Move, store, and pick materials using a sit-down propane forklift. + Read manifests and orders to locate bin and product numbers. + Load and unload materials at shipping and receiving docks. + Inspect goods upon arrival for visual quality defects and ensure they match the bill of lading. + Tear down shipments and separate them to match orders, including weighing products on a scale. + Collaborate with team members to cut materials with a saw if necessary. + Band finished goods and prepare them for shipment. + Repack all goods and materials as needed. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift in a manufacturing environment. + Experience in shipping, receiving, and material handling. + Ability to inspect and band metal and steel materials. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Demonstrated accountability, teamwork, integrity, respect, and commitment to excellence. + Willingness to commit to a solid two-year tenure. **Why Work Here?** Join a company with a positive team culture where you're supported on any shift. Safety gear, including boots, glasses, and ear protection, is required. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Freeport, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $22.50/hr.
