**Job Title: Material Handler ($20-22/hr.)** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler for the 1st Shift, with working hours from 6:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday. This role involves operating forklifts, transporting and weighing products, and utilizing hand trucks and pallet jacks. The position requires verifying material sizes using basic math skills, documenting weights or discrepancies, and assisting in packing boxes within the shipping department. This contract role runs through August. **Responsibilities** + Operate a forklift approximately 80% of the day. + Transport and weigh products using hand trucks and pallet jacks. + Verify material sizes using basic math skills. + Document information regarding weights or discrepancies. + Assist with packing boxes in the shipping department. + Lift items weighing between 50 lbs to 75 lbs. + Perform inventory checks and counts. + Help with various tasks including sweeping and cleaning the plant. + Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight. + Utilize an overhead crane for material handling. + Prepare items for shipment by following instructions and ensuring accuracy in packaging. **Essential Skills** + Ability to lift between 25 lbs and 75 lbs. + At least 2 years of forklift experience. + Computer proficiency. + Steel toe boots are required. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Previous experience in shipping or packaging is a plus. + Additional experience as a material handler or forklift operator is beneficial. **Why Work Here?** Employees enjoy working in a clean and well-maintained facility, with a positive culture and supportive management.
